To measure your soil’s potential of hydrogen (more commonly called the pH), to ensure a successful truffle grove, you will need a pH-meter.
This small mechanical device consists of a box displaying the pH reading on a scale from 0 to 8 (acid pH value below 7, neutral pH value 7 or alkaline pH above 7). The pH meter tester consists of two 20 cm probes to be planted into the ground and a two-way switch, for a pH reading or humidity reading instantaneously displayed on the screen. Works without batteries.
The "Périgord" truffle requires a limestone soil, or at least one rich in calcium and alkaline reaction (optimal pH between 7.5 and 8.5).
The burgundy truffle requires a limestone soil, ideally with a pH of 7 or above.
Overall dimensions: 28 cm x 5 cm.
